What is the Care Quality Commission (CQC?
The Care Quality Commission is a body that conducts inspections and oversees health and social care services to ensure they adhere to essential standards of quality and safety.
What does CQC do?
The CQC is available to hear your feedback about the care you receive, whether it's positive or negative. Their main role is to ensure that hospitals, care homes, dental practices, general practices, and other care services in England deliver safe, effective, and excellent care.
They actively support and promote improvements in these care services.
Furthermore, they share their findings publicly, assisting individuals in making well-informed choices about the best care options for themselves and their families.
Our partnership with the Care Quality Commission
According to the Care Quality Commission (CQC), approximately seven million individuals who utilized NHS services in the last five years had worries regarding their treatment but chose not to voice them. Among these, a significant majority (58%) later regretted not raising their concerns.
On the other hand, when people did decide to raise a concern or lodge a complaint, the majority (66%) experienced prompt resolution of their issue. They found that this feedback helped improve the service, and they were satisfied with the outcome. You can find more information about the CQC's research on this matter by visiting their website.
Through the collaboration between the Patients Association and the CQC, the information you share with us can be passed on to the CQC. Whether you have had a positive experience with healthcare or social care, or if you and your family have encountered troubling situations, this partnership allows your feedback to be heard.
